Since 2016 Trent Moon has been putting his life long experience in the outback to use, specialising in getting adventurous Aussie’s across the largest parallel sand dune desert in the world. To make things more interesting Trent guides the groups from the East, heading west the approach to the 1000 or so sand dunes is steepest. Significantly more so. On top of that Moon Tours uses the lesser travelled, most remote and longest route across the northern Simpson Desert. The Madigan Line. In name of the first European to cross with camels in 1939. The route takes us from Birdsville to Mt Dare through private pastoral and Aboriginal land. It is without doubt one of the longest, most remote and challenging 4WD trips in the world so travelling with Trent Moon from Moon Tours makes a lot of sense with with more than a dozen crossings of the Simpson under his belt.

In 2020 and going forward into 2021 Trent is encourage off-road camper trailer owners to tackle the crossing with him going from West to East. Trent grew up travelling with trailers up the Cape, Kimberley’s, the Simpson and even the Canning Stock Route. As with any crossing, equipment will have to meet a certain standard and so long as they do, Trent says he’s excited to take them across.
